For a successful EAC Certificate or EAC Declaration in the Eurasian Economic Union, in most cases, the products must be tested by the approved test laboratories. On the basis of the test results, the test reports are carried out. The test report is an official document proving the conformity of the product with the specified technical data. The test reports are required for the conformity assessment by the notified body in the EAEU.

The tests may only be carried out by the test laboratories approved in the EAEU. The foreign manufacturers send the samples to the laboratory, where they are subject to various tests. It is also possible to carry out the test by authorized professionals in the production facility.

Test reports are required:

The following parameters are usually tested:

  • compliance with GOST standards
  • compliance with technical regulations of the Russian Federation
  • compliance with technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union
  • alcohol content
  • radioactivity
  • content of ozone depleting substances

All measurements and test results are recorded in the test report. If the product sample has successfully passed all tests, a written assessment and a test report will be drawn up. The test report certifies that the product meets all requirements of GOST or other technical standards. If the product fails, the test laboratory will notify in writing.

Test reports are required together with other necessary technical documentation for the conformity assessment process. Test certificate, technical passport, safety justification, instruction manual, SDS safety data sheet, etc. shall be submitted to the notified body. On the basis of these documents, the notified body decides whether an EAC Certificate or EAC Declaration can be issued. The test reports may be as well required by the customs authorities.

Test methods

Both destructive and non-destructive test methods are used. Some characteristics can only be confirmed by a destructive test such as fire protection. Other test specimens are in no way affected or even diminished.

Validity of a test report

The test report is valid for one year from the date of issue if the protocol has been applied for as part of mandatory certification. For further requests, the test reports will be issued for six years. If you require the test report for voluntary certification, the validity period is agreed upon in consultation with the notified body.

Deadline for issuing a test report

The duration of the test report issue depends on the type of product subject to test. Depending on the product type, the tests are more or less complex and may take more or less time.
